The Future Life Expo/Future Life Experience exhibition within the Future Society Showcase is to present two innovative and proprietary technologies that will enable a future decarbonized society in a way diverging from conventional concepts
FUSO NextGen Tech Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO : Hisanobu Kado; hereinafter “the Company”) has been selected to participate in the Future Life Expo/Future Life Experience permanent exhibit within the Future Society Showcase at the 2025 World Exposition, to be held in Osaka from April 13, 2025. The Company will present a different kind of future decarbonized society, brought about through the widespread social implementation of two innovative technologies—green hydrogen generation and power generation technology and CO2 room temperature adsorption and desorption technology—both of which use aqueous reaction solutions originally developed by the Company.
In recent years, aggressive efforts have been made to decarbonize the world in order to halt the progression of global warming, a factor hindering the world from maintaining a sustainable global environment. However, the large scale facilities and high cost of promising hydrogen power generation and CO2 capture technologies present challenges keeping these from becoming widespread. Amid this, the Company has established green hydrogen generation and power generation technology and CO2 room temperature adsorption and desorption technology that can be installed at low cost regardless of the size or location of the facility by using our proprietary aqueous reaction solution.
■ Off-grid green hydrogen generation and power generation technology that does not use external energy
The Company’s equipment uses a proprietary aqueous reaction fluid to generate hydrogen without the use of external energy and with nearly no reaction heat. Through the combination of high-efficiency fuel cells and lithium-ion batteries developed in-house, this power generation technology will contribute to the realization of a sustainable, decarbonized society. It can also be utilized as a backup in the event of a disaster or power outage.
■ CO2 room temperature adsorption/desorption technology that does not use thermal energy
This technology enables efficient adsorption and easy desorption of CO2 at room temperature, and quantification of the CO2 adsorbed and desorbed. The system uses an aqueous reaction solution and, unlike conventional methods, does not require thermal energy for desorption, thus creating a more compact and cost-saving solution for CO2 adsorption and desorption at room temperature. In addition, because the CO2 adsorbed can be quantified, specific reduction targets and the results of environmental measures can be quantitatively evaluated.
■ Exhibiting a future decarbonized society diverging from conventional concepts and made possible by two innovative technologies
In the exhibition area, translucent projection screens will be used to introduce the future decarbonized society we could reach when the aforementioned two technologies are implemented in society, using images of actual and demonstration machines augmented by graphic effects.
Despite global efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions and the development of decarbonization technologies, the world is still far from meeting targets for greenhouse gas emission reduction. The rise in the planet’s average temperature is said to be a cause of more abnormal weather events and intensifying disasters, which in turn are seriously affecting the natural environment and ecosystems.
The technologies the Company will be showcasing at the Expo have the potential to solve many of the challenges the world faces today in reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Through this exhibition, we hope to spread understanding of this technology to many people and contribute to the realization of a new decarbonized society.

Future Life Expo and Future Life Experience exhibition
The Future Life Experience is an exhibition facility in the Future Life Expo, part of the Future Society Showcase Project. This is a hands-on venue at Expo 2025 that aims to co-create a vision of society beyond 2025 with diverse participants by proposing various ideas and with cooperation from corporations.
It is a venue where questions and proposals related to future lifestyles such as future food, culture, and healthcare are brought together for messaging and co-creation. Exhibition facilities, workshops, and a small stage will be set up with the aim of not only providing information to visitors but also enabling them to experience life in the future through hands-on and other dynamic exhibits.
